The Clive Searby Brass Education Fund was launched in 2023/24. This fund aims to increase the number of young people taking up brass instruments by offering fully funded scholarships to students judged to have musical potential by music coordinators and KMS tutors in the borough of Kingston, and who lack the means to pay for tutoring, an instrument and ensemble fees.
One family shared their experience:
“Playing any brass instrument wasn’t something we’d ever considered. But Austin embraced it completely—he practices most days and was already part of a huge Chicago medley! To see him fall in love with the instrument and a whole new world of music has been magical.”
Eligibility
Students are referred by music teachers for this fund.
